Three new honorary members

At the recent 2017 AGM of the Meteorological Society of NZ
three of our members were voted in as honorary members.

They are
Brian Giles: for an exceptional contribution to meteorological journal editing.
Bob McDavitt: for an exceptional contribution to the Met Soc. of NZ committee.
Kevin Trenberth:  for an exceptional contribution to atmospheric science.

We offer these members our congratulations.

Official notice to members for AGM 2017

You are invited to attend our 38th Annual General Meeting

This is planned to take place on end of day 1 of MetSociety DUNEDIN Conference  

 on Monday 13 November 2017.

Start time 1700NZDT = 5pm   Place: Kākāpō room at Otago Museum.

All financial members are allowed to attend and vote. If just attending the AGM no conference registration is required.

Kevin Trenberth to be awarded medal by AGU

Today the American Geophysical Union announced its medal and award winners for 2017.  

The list includes Dr Kevin E Trenberth, an honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of NZ, and a New Zealander by birth. 

  He is a member of the Met Soc of NZ.
