The Meteorological Society of New Zealand’s annual conference will be held at the University of Auckland Main Library (109-B10), from 18-20th November. The conference will feature a welcome function on Monday 18th at Old Government House, a student and ECR event at NIWA on Tuesday 19^th and a social dinner at Baduzzi restaurant on the evening of Tuesday 19th.

From Data to Decisions: Science for Climate Resilience

This year, Day 2 of the conference will focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation, featuring talks from both scientists and end users. A panel discussion, chaired by Professor James Renwick, will address the needs of end users and stakeholders from the scientific community. Day passes are available for those wishing to attend only this day.

Social excursion to Rangitoto Island

Weather permitting, there will be a social excursion to Rangitoto Island by public ferry for a day walk on Sunday 17 November (the day before the conference). Bring your own lunch and water. Further instructions and a gear list will be provided closer to the date to those registered for the excursion. In case of rain, we will have an alternative activity.

When: 8:45 Sunday 17 November

Where: Meet at the Downtown Ferry Terminal

Transport/Tickets: catching the 9:15 ferry, returning on the 4pm ferry, cost is $53 return (buy your own ticket)

Registration and Programme

Early Bird registration ends 15 October 2024.
Full Registration includes welcome function, conference sessions and keynote addresses, morning and afternoon teas and lunches.

1-Day Registrations include coffee and tea breaks and lunch on that particular day.
The conference dinner is an optional add on. Extra dinner tickets are very favourably priced ‘at cost’. We do this to encourage partners and friends to attend the dinner.
